Welcome to Meet the Staff Night!
- Student expectations:
- More responsibilities in upper elementary
- copy down homework first thing in the morning
- start the morning with journal/reading/centres
- make an effort to speak French
- Parent expectations:
- sign reading log
- check agenda/blog
- Grade 4,5, and 6 choir is open to any student who would like to join. Choir for these grades will meet every day 1 at noon recess. The first rehearsal will take place tomorrow, Sept. 12.
- Subjects:
- French LA
- English LA
- Social studies (sciences humaines)
- Science
- Math
- Art
- Language arts (French and English) and math will be taught on a "continuum." Expectations for grades 5 and 6 differ.
- Weekly homework: We will begin with our weekly reading schedule on Monday. Students should read for 100 minutes in French per week. They will start bringing home a log book to be signed by parents.
- Quizzes: Each Monday we will have a vocabulary quiz. There will be a quiz on verbs this Monday. Starting next week we will be working on some English words. Each child will have their own, unique list of words to work on. The words should be copied down in their agendas.
- Check the blog regularly for updates! It will also be used for videos, links, and vocabulary words.
